I import Indian Saris and cut the entire garment into strips. One garment is typically used per skein of yarn. Depending on the weave of the sari, some are light silks, some are damask silks, some are combinations of sequins and thick embroidery. All these elements contribute to the final unique aspects of the one of a kind sari skeins I make. Accordingly the texture will vary from a soft acrylic to tweedy linen feel. Uses for these skeins can be from jewelry, kumihimo, accent elements in knitting and crochet projects and weaving projects. Your imagination is the limit.
Please see my project ideas section for more detail info on how to use sari yarns and pointers on working with them.
